Instead of doing a lot of flying, many are opting to drive to a destination. This way they save more money. They are also deciding on less expensive hotels and accommodations.

Hard core leisure travelers will still take the same number of trips this year but they will stay fewer nights. And there’s even more good news ahead. Fifteen percent (15%) of US Citizens plan to even travel more than they have in the past. As it finally became apparent to most of us that, yeah we’re in a big economic mess, gas prices hit us between the eyes at $4 or more per gallon. In the national survey only 35% of those who answered the pole said there would be reconsidering plans for vacation this year.

With unemployment at an all time high and baby boomers being the highest age group to start home businesses, the travel industry is ripe and ready. Hopefully this is a lesson learned that if something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Supposedly the “software” these poor people was suckered into was anywhere from $2,200 to $12,000. They could have taken a few vacations on that money alone!

Hearing about this telemarketing hoax made me realize that now more than ever people need what I offer, viable travel solutions. It also amazed me to see that people are willing to spend so much for so very little. That made me even prouder of our vacation packages.

I always knew travel was a huge industry and it’s been the best financial decision I’ve ever made (to work from home in my travel business) but reading stories like the Texas fiasco really helps to reinforce my belief in my product and services and it’s really no wonder that people from all walks of life are joining my team.
