Under the new regulations, HIV testing would no longer be used in the medical exams which are required for certain travel visas and permanent residence.

The Centers for disease control stated that HIV isn’t a threat to us from border to border and insists that the disease can’t be spread through casual contact. Insisting that there is no scientific reasons to exclude those with HIV from entering the US, the CDC is now seeking public comment on the proposal through August 17th. Health and Human Services will, of course, have the final say however the Obama administration states that the ban could be lifted by the end of the year.
